So collecting art for my summer feature this week, I noticed a lot of my watchers were insecure about their art, calling it not good enough to be featured.

Babes, let me tell you something. It's totally not true! Your art rocks the heavens, no matter what everyone else says. The quality of your art is not measured  in how many comments it gets or how many watchers you gain by it, but by your personal view on it. If you're happy with your art, it's awesome! If you're not, it's still cause you spent time on it and you put effort in it.

Some of you told me they did not want to be featured because they felt unworthy to be featured by me, because they thought I was better than them. Cause I was 'gifted' or 'talented'. Well no people, I'm just a normal person like you all. I'm not better than any of you. I practice just as hard, and put as much effort in my drawings as you guys.

When I started here on DeviantArt, I wasn't as good as I am now. When I look back at the art I made back then, I don't even want to know what I was thinking when making it, but still I am proud of it. Why? because I made it and I spent time on it. And all those pictures, yes all of them, let me improve. Even if it was just a sloppy 10 minute drawing, it helped me improve and it was a part of the process that got me up to this level. And that's what I'm still doing. Improving. But how can you improve when you're stuck in this gap when you only think about your art as crap? Negativity will only drag your art down, really. If you're happy about your art, you enjoy doing it a LOT more, which will lead you to a happier art life and probably to much more improvement. So enjoy your drawing and don't look down on them cause they don't look as pretty as art from others, cause they have been on the same level as you. They just improved by practicing a lot and enjoying it. If you don't enjoy your art, nothing good will come from it.

Build on your littlest confident my love, cause you will bloom in the future. I believe in you all. Someday you will all be wonderful people, artists or not.

Also, if you aren't happy about your art, and plan to practice, please read this journal DamaiMikaz wrote, it's very inspiring!

PracticeBy now everybody already knows that becoming a good artist doesn't come from talent alone. On contrary; talent is a myth. Like the famous quote goes: "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". Meaning so much that even with a good idea and a bright mind, you still have to work your ass off in order to achieve something. While this makes mad skills available for basically everybody, I still hear many people complain about practice being a rather boring thing, or about them practicing a lot but still getting nowhere.
So I thought; Oh well... Why no article about practice?
Conscious vs unconscious practice
First of all lets divide practice in roughly two types. You have the conscious type of practice. This is the kind of practice in which you're sitting down and thinking to yourself "Hell yeah! I'm gonna draw some <subject> today to get better at this!". And then there's the unconscious type of practice. The type of practice that is often more playful an

Have a wonderful day!
